White Cliffs

We like to try to make the most out of our bank holidays.  This time we decided to see the white cliffs (chalk cliffs) of the southeast coast.  Ben was looking forward to visiting Eastbourne as it is known as the sunshine coast, it must have been an off day as all we got was grey skies. 

We walked through the town centre and headed to the beach.  It was a pebble beach similar to Brighton's which is relatively close. 

Once we got to the beach we went to the hills to search for the cliffs.  It was quite the hike with great views.

 This was my favorite viewpoint with the little lighthouse down below in the water.

The cliffs were bright white, sharp and very pretty.

London Prepares - Athletics

Ben scored us some tickets to attend the grand opening of the Olympic stadium and to watch a youth athletic competition, the athletes were from all of the Universities across the UK.

It was great to walk through a bit of the Olympic Park and get to see the Stadium.  The games are less than 2012 hours away and you can tell that everyone is getting excited for them.

Easter in Brighton

For Easter we headed to the coast, Brighton.  It wasn't the brightest of days but at least it didn't rain, plus it was nice to get out of the city and see wide open sea.

We strolled through the city centre and through the history museum and the avenues.

We walked along the pier and had some ice cream.  Afterwards Ben was feeling brave so he tried the biggest craziest ride there.  It swung over the pier and launched 100 ft into the sky.

I wished a wish...and it's come true!

Ben and I have the loveliest friend who we met only a couple of months after we were married, Ted.  He lives just down the road from us and we have spent many an enjoyable evening in his company.

I don't know how long it's been since I have wanted to see a professional production of Les Miserables, but my wish has finally come true.  Ted was exceedingly generous and invited Ben and I to attend with him!

We made an evening of it, firstly we had a nice meal at Bella Italia which was right next door to the theatre.  Secondly, we headed to the show which was phenomenal!  The story was moving and meaningful, the singers placed great emotion into their numbers and it was exceptional.  Thanks Ted for a wonderful evening!

Olympics Experience - Shooting

We were lucky enough to get to go to an 'Olympic Experience' through work, it was for disability shooting.  We traveled out to Stoke Mandeville where a par-athletic center is situated.  We learned about how Visa has contributed to the training of the GB 2012 team.

We had a discussion with the coaches and athletes.

After a little training we got to try shooting ourselves.  Ben did a great job.

I did pretty well shooting, I came in 2nd place in a group competition and I got a bulls-eye with the hand pistol on my first try.

 The athletes are really amazing and inspiring how driven they are to succeed.

Once it was over we walked through public walk trails back to the train station.

Blonde!

It's a surprise to me too but I really liked the musical Legally Blonde.  I went with a friend (Apurvi) and I wasn't sure what to expect, I had heard a lot of great things about it, but I wasn't sure if the movie would translate to a musical.  It was great though, the songs were up beat, clever and funny.  Definitely a girlie show.

Merry Christmas

This year we spent the holidays with Ben's cousin Leah, her husband Fraser and their son Will.  

I love christmas crackers with the crowns.

They live out near Bristol in a nice quaint home with an amazing view.
